These terms cover your use of the Oats app. By downloading or using Oats, you agree to them. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the app.
The app
Oats is a voice-first capture app for iPhone. We grant you a personal, non-transferable licence to use Oats on Apple devices you own or control, in line with the App Store Terms of Service and Apple’s Standard End User Licence Agreement. These terms add to those; where they conflict, Apple’s terms govern your use of the App Store.
Requirements
Oats is built for iPhone 15 Pro and newer, running a version of iOS that supports Apple Intelligence on-device. Some features depend on your device, your settings, and your region.
Subscriptions and billing
Oats offers an auto-renewing subscription with a free trial:
- A 7-day free trial, then $49.99 per year, or $7.99 per month. Prices vary by region — the App Store shows your local price before you buy.
- Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase.
- Your subscription renews automatically unless you turn off auto-renew at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- Manage or cancel anytime in your Apple ID settings. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
- Refunds are handled by Apple under the App Store terms.
We may change prices and plans from time to time; a change won’t affect the period you’ve already paid for.
Acceptable use
Use Oats for your own lawful, personal purposes. Don’t misuse the app, attempt to break, copy, or interfere with it, or use it to store or share unlawful content.
Not professional advice
Oats helps you capture and organise your life. It is not financial, legal, medical, or fitness advice.
- Bills and money. Oats extracts bill details to hand off to your bank. It is never a payment processor and never moves money. Your bank is the source of truth — always check an amount before you pay.
- Health and fitness. Oats can hold information you choose to track, but it does not provide medical or fitness guidance.
Your content
Your captures, and the items Oats makes from them, are yours. We claim no ownership of your content. Oats itself — its design, software, and brand — is ours and is protected by law.
Availability and “as is”
We work to keep Oats reliable, but it is provided “as is”, without warranties beyond those that cannot be excluded by law. We don’t guarantee the app will be uninterrupted or error-free.
Liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of Oats. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law or other laws that cannot be excluded.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Australia, but this does not take away the mandatory consumer-protection rights you have under the laws of your own country. Wherever you live, you keep any local rights and remedies that cannot be waived by agreement, and nothing here limits them.
Changes
We may update these terms; we’ll post the new version on this page and update the date above. Continuing to use Oats means you accept the changes.
